Pilanesberg is the nearest "Big 5" reserve to Joburg, set in the crater of a long extinct volcano the Park ranks among the largest of the parks in South Africa (it is in fact the fourth largest park) and covers an area of 55 000 hectare. Our day tour takes you to the reserve early in the morning to catch the day and the animals at their best. The morning is spent with the ranger searching for the Elephants, Rhinos, Lions, and anything else you can spot. After lunch in the park you head back out in your open top game viewing vehicle for an afternoon game draive before returning to Joburg for the evening. A full day, but definatly worth it!
